Holy Myrrhbearers Monastery

Holy Myrrhbearers Monastery is a monastic community for women of the Orthodox Church in America, located right in Otego, New York. It was founded in 1977 and have been in Otsego County in the scenic upper-Catskill region of New York State. Inspired by the desert mothers and fathers, we model our lives as fully as possible on their life and witness, their martyria.

Frequently Asked Questions
"The Myrrhbearers are the women who went to the Tomb of Christ carrying myrrh and other spices to anoint His dead body.
